Advantages and Disadvantages of BAPIs

Advantages:

• Status of data sent is known.
• Sending and processing on the target system is immediate.
• It is easier to create a custom BAPI when compared to creating a custom IDOC

Disadvantages:

• The target system has to be online to work with BAPI
• Programming knowledge is required to work with BAPI.
